From the ashes of POP-LUST rises KINGWIRE ...

urban. alternative. the sound of better sex.

POP-LUST began as an exercise in audio depth. The use of multiple acoustic & electronic drum kits, layered synth bass-lines and heavily processed Mellotron/classic synthesizer patches create varied textural foreground and resulting backgrounds. Starting with nothing more than a simple drum pattern or bass phrase in a blank Logic project, I compose and build as I go. Making decisions as I go. Much like certain British producers. When a song finished, it’s done and onto the next one.

Each song contains a succinct compositional structure. Each has a life of its own colored by contrasting instrument timbres, structural changing sonic ambiance and active-energetic panning. Each song’s voice invites the listener to actively engage. Allowing them to create their own meaning and expression.

The stylistic and dynamic ranges were more of an experimental exploration. Lighter. More forgiving... and allowing. The range more expressive... totally confusing conventional listeners. Musician friends excepting.

After 4 full-length releases – between SEP 2019 & AUG 2020 – 
I embarked on a targeted, focused direction resulting in the THE-ACTUAL-F*CK ep -- included here as BONUS TRACKS. This is here where the seeds of what would become known as KINGWIRE germinated.

THE-ACTUAL-F*CK ep was pulled from the Bandcamp shelves with no warning, nor notice, after 3 months of being live. Also, all related promo material/posts were also pulled from FACEBOOK and the POP-LUST pg was in deactivated due to a violation of “community standard’s.” The cover art did feature a detail of glistening labia obscured by large type of the bandname and title. Still.
